What this app is

It keeps score for squares pools run privately among people who know each other. It draws the numbers, works out who won each period from the scores, and keeps a running tally of who owes what.

It never holds, transfers, or takes a cut of anyone’s money. Whatever the players agree to stake, they settle directly with each other, the same way they would without this app. There is no wallet here, no balance, no payment processing, and no fee on a pool. We are the scoreboard, not the bank and not the house.

Your responsibility

Whether a squares pool is lawful where you are is your call to make, and it depends on where you live and how you run it. Many places allow a private game among friends where nobody profits from running it; many do not allow the same game run for profit or opened to the public. Do not use this app for anything unlawful where you are, and do not use it to run a pool for profit.

You must be old enough to take part in such a game where you live. Invite people you actually know.

What we do not promise

The app is provided as it is. We work to keep the record accurate and available, but we cannot promise it will never be down, never be wrong, or never lose anything. Scores come from public sources and can arrive late or wrong; an admin can correct a result, and the correction is recorded rather than hidden.

Since no money passes through the app, we are not a party to what anyone owes anyone else, and we cannot settle a disagreement about a debt between players. What we can offer is the record of what happened, which is visible to every member of the pool.

Running a pool

Whoever creates a pool sets its terms — the price, the payout split, the deadline — and those become visible to everyone who joins. Certain terms settle once someone has bought a square, because a player has committed at that price. An admin can cancel a pool; the record then shows what everyone had put in, so it can be unwound fairly.

Ending things

You can leave a pool whenever you like, up until the numbers are drawn; after that an admin removes you. Your account lives with the sign-in provider and you can delete it there. We can close an account that is being used to harass people or to run something unlawful. If these terms change, the change is visible here before it takes effect.
