Privacy
This is a small app for running squares pools with people you know. It keeps what it needs to run your pool and to settle who won — and it is worth being specific about how little that is.
What we keep
Who you are, minimally
A display name and profile picture, copied from whichever account you signed in with (Google, or an email sign-in). We keep the identifier that account gives us so we know it is you next time. We do not store your email address — your sign-in provider holds it, and we never copy it into our database.
The name you chose for each pool
You pick what a pool calls you when you claim your first square, and it applies only to that pool. Two pools you are in do not share it, and other players see the name you chose there — not your account name, unless you let them.
What happened in your pools
Which squares are yours, what the numbers drew, the scores, and who owes what. This is the pool's record: it is what lets the grid be rebuilt exactly and what settles a disagreement about who won.
Your notification choices
Which updates you want and how you want them. If you turn on browser notifications, we keep what the browser needs to deliver them, and nothing more.
What we never keep
Your email address
It is never stored here. When a pool sends you final results by email, the message is handed to our sending provider addressed to the account you signed in with — we do not keep a copy of the address.
Any payment information
There is none to keep. Money moves directly between you and the people you are playing with; this app is the scorekeeper, never the cashier. No card numbers, no bank details, no balances held on your behalf.
Advertising or cross-site tracking
No ad networks, no third-party trackers, no selling anything about you to anyone. We are not in that business and the app has no code for it.
Who can see your pool
A private pool is visible only to its members. A public one can be seen by anyone with the link, which is what lets you share a grid without making everyone sign in first — but the money side and the activity log stay members-only either way.
Inside a pool, other players see the name you chose for that pool. Whether they also see the account name behind it is your choice, and you can change it in that pool’s settings at any time.
Leaving, and taking your data
You can leave a pool from its members list, up until the numbers are drawn — after that an admin removes you, so the exit is on the record. Your account itself lives with the sign-in provider, and deleting it there removes your profile here. The pools you played in keep their record of what happened, because that record belongs to everyone who was in them and removing one player’s squares would make the grid wrong for the rest.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we keep, the change will be visible here before it takes effect.
